Oils

Oil is a natural boundary for water and salts, allowing for the movement of waste products and nutrients in and out of cells.  Components of oils are found in every cell membrane and every organ and tissue.  In fact, our brain is mostly comprised of saturated fats and cannot function without oils.

Not all saturated fats lead to poor health and obesity.  The importance is the type of oil and the size of its fatty chain acids.   Medium chain fatty acids are sent to the liver and converted to energy, whereas long chain fatty acids are stored as fat.  Using poor fats and oils can decrease metabolism and cause more fat production.

Fats and oils are made up of triglycerides and fats are solid at room temperature and oils are liquid.  The source of oils and the way we use them has degraded its protective quality.  Oil processed from plants or seeds with pesticides, genetically modified, using high heat, or bleaching will have a toxic burden on the body.  Containers exposed to light between 450-720nm will cause oil to become rancid or can be toxic if it is stored in plastic or aluminum.

The key to unlocking the power of oil is to know which oils to use and when.  Oils are vital for a healthy heart, kidneys, nervous system, hormones, and sexual function.  Beautiful skin and our immune system are naturally protected by the right oils.  Oils can fully nourish the body when used for your body internally, externally, and as essential oils.
